The [Fukuyama koto] made by local craftsmen is the best in Japan, including the excellent tone, the beauty of the wood grain of the upper, and the splendor of the decoration. It is the only musical instrument designated as a traditional craft.
In the past, it has been played on board the space shuttle Discovery and at the International Space Center, making it a world-class instrument.
Background of the birth of [Miyabine]
We, Fukuyama Service Center Ito Co., Ltd., are a company that plans and sells local optional experience tours [Setouchi SamPo] that convey the "slightly interesting" charm of the local Fukuyama and Setouchi, which is not listed in tourist magazines.
When planning a hands-on tour in Fukuyama City, I visited the city's koto maker, Fujiikoto Seisakusho.
The [Fukuyama koto] is produced by Yoshiaki Fujii, a koto craftsman who is a koto craftsman and a traditional craftsman. increase.
While experiencing the craftsmanship of the koto and Mr. Fujii's thoughts, I learned about the outstanding techniques of the koto masters who create the Fukuyama koto, and the spirit that goes into making a single koto. However, like traditional culture all over Japan, Fukuyama Koto is facing a crisis of ``declining performers'' and ``declining craftsmen''.
I don't want to lose the precious techniques and culture that the koto masters have been protecting for a long time in my hometown Fukuyama City. I would like to convey the wonderfulness of Fukuyama Koto to people in Japan and overseas, and leave it to future generations.
The development and production of [KOTO WOOD SPEAKER -Miyabine-] started with such thoughts.
With the cooperation of "Fujiikoto Seisakusho" and a woodworking manufacturer in Fukuyama City, a wooden speaker modeled on the shape of a koto was created using offcuts from the production process of the Fukuyama koto.
Through [KOTO WOOD SPEAKER -Miyabine-], we will spread the Fukuyama koto and, by extension, traditional Japanese culture to the world.

Fujii Koto Seisakusho Co., Ltd., a koto maker in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, is responsible for the provision and production of scrap materials.
